October 12, 2023
This October, Atlantic Canada’s creative agencies got the chance to reunite and gather as a community for the first time in three years.
The Ice Awards, Atlantic Canada’s only creative advertising awards show, has been resurrected after a long hiatus thanks to Atlantic Business Magazine’s new leadership. The show is a celebration of Atlantic Canada’s best creative marketing, advertising, and design, and is judged by a panel of nationally recognized creative professionals from outside the region.
It was a big night for everyone, but for Target especially. With 30 awards wins and 4 merits, Target took home the most awards of any other agency. With 13 Golds and 16 Silvers, Target is matched only by their previous record-breaking number at the last Ice Awards in 2019.
Target’s work as the long-standing AOR for Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism continues to set records. It was awarded 24 times, with 11 Golds and 13 Silvers in the categories of Print, Digital and Social Media, TV and Cinema, Craft, and Integrated Campaigns.
Target’s strategic and creative awards for other notable clients included 2 Silvers and a Merit for the St. John’s Board of Trade, a Silver and a Gold for St. Bonaventure’s College, and a Gold for Perchance Theatre.
Target continues to stand out not just within Atlantic Canada, but nationally and internationally. Earlier this year, their founder and previous CEO Noel O’Dea was inducted into Canada’s Marketing Hall of Fame.
