Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism’s ‘Paint the Town’ Contest Wins Canada’s Top Industry Award at the 2016 Canadian Tourism Awards

Last night, Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism’s ‘Paint the Town’ contest won Canada’s top industry award at the 2016 Canadian Tourism Awards – The WestJet Social Media / Digital Initiative of the Year. The ‘Crayons’ campaign was also the runner-up for The Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Marketing Campaign of the Year award.

Fourteen individuals and organizations from across the country were honoured at the ceremony held at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec.

The Canadian Tourism Awards are presented annually by TIAC to recognize success, leadership, and innovation in Canada’s tourism industry, and to reward those people, organizations, and events that have gone above and beyond to offer travellers superior tourism experiences in Canada.

These awards follow Target’s recent Gold win at the Canadian Marketing Association Awards. The ‘Crayons’ campaign won Gold in Consumer Services / Integrated, Bronze in Consumer Services / Advertising, and Bronze in Consumer Services / Experiential and Innovative Media, the only award handed out in the category.
